French designer blows a fuse: Insane, yet chic, Renault 5 retrofit

Could this be the most insane, yet cool, retrofit? Oh, oui! Bravo Renault.

She’s a legendary French car, he’s a legendary French designer: The classic Renault 5 designed by Pierre Gonalons is a retrofitted electric work of art by Renault, inspired by luxury jewellery and French architecture – celebrating the car’s 50th anniversary.

 

Yes, that would be a marble steering wheel!

Over 5 million Renault 5 were produced in the 70s and early 80s.

 

This is not the first e-R5 though, in 1974, the first one was already considered by the French manufacturer :
