Without a reliable BMS, even the best lithium pack can become unsafe or underperform. That’s where EMUS comes in. The EMUS G1 Centralized Battery Management System is a modular platform designed to give builders, from DIY converters to ESS engineers, professional-grade control over their packs. At its core, the system combines a master control unit with multiple Cell Group Modules (CCGMs) that directly connect to your cells. This centralized approach keeps wiring simple while scaling to hundreds or even thousands of cells when needed. In a typical light EV build, one control unit is all that’s required. It handles CAN communications, safety logic, I/O mapping, and data logging. Each CCGM supports 6 to 16 series cells with integrated passive balancing and temperature monitoring. Up to 32 CCGMs can be daisy-chained under a single control unit, giving that controller oversight of as many as 512 cells. For larger applications, up to 12 control units can be linked together, supporting a maximum system size of 6,144 cells—all using the same architecture. Flexibility is where EMUS shines. Current sensors come in several formats: a dual-range bus bar style for high accuracy, a loop-through clamp for rugged mobile use, and a CAN-enabled bus bar option that integrates directly with the control unit. Plug-and-play harnesses, CAN hubs, and optional add-ons like digital displays and remote monitoring simplify integration. Just as important as the hardware is the software. The EMUS control panel is free to use, giving you real-time insight into state of charge, balancing behavior, and protective responses during charge and discharge cycles. Builders can configure I/O functions, track data over USB or RS232, and integrate with chargers, inverters, and vehicle controllers over CAN. For those stepping into EV conversions or scaling up to commercial energy storage, the EMUS G1 platform provides a professional-grade toolset with short lead times and responsive support. Features & Benefits Centralized architecture reduces wiring complexity Modular design scales from scooters to megawatt-hour ESS systems Configurable I/O for custom safety and control logic Free software with no license fees Fast U.S. shipping and next-day technical support Key Specs Control Unit: USB, RS232, and CAN 2.0A/B interfaces Up to 12 control units per system Up to 32 CCGMs per control unit Supports a maximum of 6,144 cells CCGM range: 6–16 cells per module, 300 mA balancing Up to 5 thermistor inputs per CCGM, galvanically isolated sensing
